Tonight

I'm 30. I can no longer dance wildly in the heat all day. I value sleep. I don't drink as much as I used to. I said this all in mixed company today. The guy in his early 20s didn't want to believe it. Maybe it's a lifestyle thing, he said, and I could get back in to my old patterns with a little effort. I should have until my late 30s, at least, before I start slowing down.

Sorry, it is what it is.

I do run, though, and I never used to do that when I was younger. And I'm getting incredibly close to being able to do a pull up. I will do a pull up before this year is out!

I guess since 25 is the new 18, he probably sees 30 as the new 23.

Substituting drinking for sleep (for decades!) is a good way to cut a path to an early grave. It's cool to not give a shit about that, but being cool is overrated.
