I'm learning

Ben has a habit of falling asleep in front of the TV. I have a habit of worrying whenever this happens.

"Wake up!" I say. "You're missing important TV."

"It's OK," he says. "I'm getting important sleep in its place."

Today I was good. I let him sleep. Instead of worrying and waking him up, I stealthily took a photograph and posted it on the Internet. Enjoy.

This must be a thing married people do. Or maybe just Sherwood women. Or maybe just you and me. I have a lot of pictures of your dad sleeping, mostly on the sofa- just like Ben!

Falling asleep in front of the TV is a strong, healthful alternative honored in practice by 3 generations of Bugases so far. To prioritize the watching of TV instead of the excellent alternative of sleeping in front of it is to give one's values over to the materialistic culture that TV promotes. Let him sleep. This way he's not missing anything by sleeping in bed. He's a part of things in his own way.
