Dancing maniacs
Ben and I spent about two hours jumping around like orangutans on meth today. We were playing Dance, Dance Revolution, the only video game I've ever played that's given me sore calves and sweaty clothes. We played as beginners and still missed a lot of steps. Then these 16-year-old boys got on the machine and showed us how it's really done, swaying and darting and bobbing like nothing I've ever seen. "I've been here almost every day for five years," one of them said. I'm not sure my finances can sustain that kind of relationship with a video arcade, but I'm really tempted to buy the home version of the game.

It's totally worth it. But make sure to invest in a good pad or you'll start to get really frustrated once your skills improve.
If you download Stepmania, I know how you can get every DDR song ever released.

You need to communicate with Darcy, he's an expert!

Yes, I just recently bought a pad for our PS2 and it makes me feel like an uncoordinated idiot. But I'm getting the hang of it now. It makes me feel old to watch the young kids at arcades fly past me and here I am at my snail's pace...

I love that a student activities guru, a lawyer, a computer support guy are all referenced as loving DDR in the comments of a web journal run by a reporter, who plays the game with a computer programmer. All of us adults. Talk about widespread appeal.

A certain doctor would like me to add that he presented it to a group of fellow Pediatricians in a lecture on video games with the angle that the exercise is one of the beneficial effects of DDR.....and he owns his own pad.
