The landlord patched the ceiling last night. Between the flooding, the now water-warped bed and the tap-dancing upstairs neighbors who have a party three hours after we go to bed every night, Ben and I have been feeling pretty worn down by life lately. Nothing else to report.

How long a lease did you sign? Can you move soon? Maybe this can give you the motivation to plan ahead for the next place you will live.

Mom:
Despite Courtney's post, the sky is not falling. The last six months have been really tough, and she was thinking of all of it, not just the events of the past week or two when she wrote this. We feel worn down by all of it. Please don't talk about our problem being motivation.
We *always* plan ahead as much as we can, and moved to our current place quickly because of an extreme situation, or do you forget loaning me your car for two weeks? In this last six months, more happened than just that; it's been a series of bad luck that seems to never end, but it can't possibly continue.
We left the neighbors a note, and they kept it down last night, and will hopefully do so again. The landlord told us that plumbing problems like this have never happened to him before, and he owns 5 different places he rents out. He patched the ceiling hole with drywall yesterday and said he will pay for the bed if we choose to replace it. Life goes on.
We haven't reached the conclusion that our current place is something we need to abandon yet. Should we decide to leave, we don't have a lease, it's month to month. It's possible we could end up moving soon at some point and also possible that we won't, but it will be our decision, and we will live with it.
